Significant Other Opens Across From the Las Vegas Airport in October, and It's Hiring

LAS VEGAS, NV — A new all-day restaurant is set to open in October directly across Sunset Road from Harry Reid International Airport, and it is already hiring. Significant Other Kitchen & Cocktails has posted its management and kitchen leadership roles now. Owners say servers, cooks, bartenders and the rest of the front- and back-of-house crew will follow in the coming weeks.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view of the runways. Management is hiring now, and hourly crew positions are coming soon.

What's Opening on Sunset Road

The restaurant sits in the same building Mike Austin built as the new headquarters for his company, Austin General Contracting. The restaurant idea started with Kristi Austin's love of hospitality and grew from there. The Las Vegas Review-Journal quoted Mike Austin saying the project "began with Kristi and grew into a restaurant we hope becomes part of people's everyday lives."

Plans include a main dining room, a bar, a private dining room, a wine room and a pet-friendly terrace looking out over the airfield. The menu runs all day. Mornings bring coffee drinks and house pastries. Lunch covers salads, house-made pastas, sourdough pizzas and a burger with beef tallow fries. Dinner moves to seafood, wet-aged steaks and prime rib.

The team has a Las Vegas track record. Silverman helped open Alexxa's and Beer Park and co-created Vintner Grill. Piekarski comes out of fine-dining kitchens on the Strip.
